Frequently asked questions
Your first session is a comprehensive evaluation — typically about 60 minutes. It's a conversation, not a test. We'll take time to understand your history, what's brought you here, what you've tried before, and where you want to go. There are no wrong answers and absolutely no pressure. You can share as much or as little as you're comfortable with.
You can schedule directly through our patient portal — the link is in the navigation bar and throughout the site. You can also call us, text us, or submit a message through our Contact page. We'll confirm your appointment within one business day and send you everything you need to prepare.
In most cases, no. You can contact us directly to schedule. Some insurance plans require a referral for mental health services — we recommend checking with your provider to confirm. If a referral is needed, we can guide you through that process.
Yes. We offer both telehealth (video) and in-person appointments. Telehealth is available for patients located in [list of states]. You just need a private space, a device with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. We use a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted platform for all video sessions.
We currently treat mood disorders (including depression, bipolar disorder, and cyclothymia), ADHD, panic disorder, and anxiety disorders (including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and specific phobias). We will also be launching postpartum and prenatal mental health care in the near future. If you're unsure whether your situation falls within our scope, reach out — we'll be honest with you.
Yes. As a board-certified provider, Nike is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe psychiatric medications when clinically appropriate. Medication is always a collaborative decision — we discuss your options, explain what each medication does and why we're recommending it, and never push you toward anything you're not comfortable with.
Initial evaluations are typically 60 minutes. Follow-up medication management appointments are usually 20–30 minutes. Therapy-focused sessions are 45–60 minutes. Your appointment length will be tailored to your specific treatment plan and needs.
We offer both psychiatric evaluation and medication management, as well as therapeutic support integrated into our sessions. For patients who want dedicated weekly psychotherapy sessions, we may also coordinate with a licensed therapist to ensure you're getting comprehensive care.
Self-pay options are available. We believe quality mental health care should be accessible regardless of insurance status. Contact us to discuss self-pay rates and options — all conversations are completely confidential.
Yes — completely. All of your health information is protected under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). We never share your personal health information without your written consent, except in specific, narrow circumstances required by law — such as an imminent and serious safety risk to yourself or others.
Your safety is our first priority. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency — including thoughts of suicide or self-harm — please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. For urgent but non-emergency concerns during business hours, please contact our office directly and we will do our best to see you as quickly as possible.
You may bring a support person with you to appointments — however, for the confidential nature of treatment, we'll discuss as a group what feels most appropriate. In most cases, a portion of the session will be just between you and Racheal.
We're happy to answer any question — no matter how small. Reach out via the contact page and we'll get back to you within one business day.
